Edward LaBeau Obituary

Edward Thomas LaBeau, lovingly known as Ed, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2026, at the age of 86.

Born on April 24, 1939, in Taylor, MI, Ed grew up with the strong values of hard work, service, and devotion to family that would define his life. He proudly served his country in both the United States Army and the United States Air Force, demonstrating a deep sense of duty and patriotism that remained with him always. Ed dedicated his career to Mich Con Gas, where he worked as a Pipeline Operator. He took great pride in his work and was respected for his reliability, skill, and strong work ethic. Above all, Ed was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Jo Ann LaBeau; his children: Kathy Robertson and her husband Robin, Sue Longcore, Karen Graham, Tom LaBeau and his fiancée Carrie, Cindy Dulzo and her husband Jim, and Frank LaBeau and his wife Monica. He also leaves behind many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren who lovingly knew him as “Pops” or “Papa,” titles he carried with pride and joy.

Ed had a bold and determined spirit. He was passionate about fixing watches, spending hours carefully bringing timepieces back to life. He loved metal detecting, always hopeful for the next hidden treasure, and could often be found browsing garage sales and auctions in search of unique finds. These hobbies reflected his appreciation for history, craftsmanship, and the simple pleasure of discovery. Ed will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his steady presence, and the loud strength with which he lived his life. His legacy of service, hard work, and love will live on in the many lives he touched.

A service to celebrate Ed’s life will be held on March 7, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Lake City Christian Reformed Church. Visitation with the family will begin at 1:00 PM when doors open. Light refreshments will follow the service also at the church.
