Susan L. (Napierski) Phelps

Susan Lorraine Phelps, age 63, of Houghton Lake, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at her home with her loving family by her side.  Cherished mother of David Hose, Kevin (Nicole) Hose, Jeni (Scott) Baker, James Hose, Michael (Rebecca) Hose, and Cody (Aliyah) DeRuiter. Loving Grandmother of 20 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, siblings Ed (Sandy) Napierski, and Shirley Sutherland, nieces and nephews Jessica Kalczynski, Adam (Taylor) Sutherland, Hollie (Shaun) Toole, Elizabeth (Gordon)Ellison, Kyle (Katie) Sutherland, and 12 great nieces and nephews. She is now reunited with her beloved parents, James Napierski and Janet (Stockwell) Moore.

Susan was born June 26, 1962, in Pontiac, Michigan, to James and Janet. Susan graduated from Houghton Lake High School in 1981 and started a family. In 1999, she graduated from Mid Michigan Community College with an associate's degree in Nursing and worked as an RN in the emergency room. Taking care of people was her life's passion. She even took it on the road, as a travel nurse between Michigan and Texas. In her spare time, she enjoyed the outdoors and playing softball with the Tiki Frogs.

Friends and family are invited to visit at Christler Funeral Home-Houghton Lake Chapel (6651 West Houghton Lake Drive) on Saturday, March 7, 2026, from noon until the time of service at 2:00 pm.
